Satan's Slaves

Fantasia International Film Festival Review: Joko Anwar’s supernatural horror SATAN’S SLAVES There is a special place saved for films that pull the supernatural-horror sub-genre off successfully. The ones that manage to ease you into the supernatural elements so it feels part of normal life, without overstating and overcomplicating aspects – it’s just presented to you … Read more

Tigers Are Not Afraid Review

Tigers Are Not Afraid 2017

Are Fairytales Real or Just Imagined?

Because Tigers Are Not Afraid is set in present time, the layered and magical way the story is told really gives you something to think about after the credits roll and the screen goes dark.

When I saw the trailer for this Mexican horror, fantasy infused with childhood fairytales I knew I had to see it. Lucky for me it was part of 2018’s Fantasia Film Festival Line up. Now it’s coming to Shudder and will begin streaming from September 12th 2019.

Fantasia 2018 Review For Microhabitat 2017

Microhabitat 2017

The Directorial Debut for Jeon Go-Woon

Fantasia 2018 is finally here and for me, it’s like Christmas. Microhabitat promised a story about a slacker choosing cigarettes and booze to not having a roof over her head and I couldn’t resist.

The movies this year are awesome and my schedule is full of movie watching goodness. To kick it off, I thought this romantic drama by Jeon Go-Woon was a good way to ease into things.
